Acne and Candida
If you’ve looked into more natural cures for acne, you might have found information about the link between acne and candida. Does candida cause acne? Well, not exactly. Is candida bad for you? Again, not exactly. There’s more to the argument there.
While there is a link between acne and candida, that statement is not making the entire picture clear. Candida, for anyone who doesn’t know, is a type of yeast that exists in our bloodstream and digestive tract. In and of itself, candida is not harmful. Quite the opposite, it gets rid of excess glucose in our bloodstreams in case everything else that normally regulates that fails. This prevents us from going blind and/or dying, so I’d say that’s pretty good! When to much glucose is in the bloodstream, candida swells up and get’s rid of any of the excess.

The problem with candida is that it can take a nasty turn for the worse if it keeps getting rid of excess glucose. Normally candida dies off after only a few hours and everything goes back to normal. The problem occurs when our blood and body have a steady supply of glucose. Candida begins to feed and feed and starts becoming a bit of a problem child, releasing waste and toxins into our bloodstreams and overloading our cleansing organs such as our livers or small intestines. This is the link between acne and candida. By itself, it doesn’t necessarily cause acne, but it can contribute to breakouts and can exacerbate existing problems.
So as I’ve already mentioned, candida feeds off glucose in the bloodstream. Do you know what causes that glucose to be there in the first place? Sugar! Not so much natural sugars found in fruits. I mean refined, white sugar which is nearly a poison to our bodies. White flour and white rice go in this list too. When broken down in our bodies, their chemical make up is very similar to that of refined sugar and they all practically rob us of essential vitamins and minerals. On top of that, they also overload our pancreas, causing it to overproduce hormones in order to get rid of the excess glucose in our bloodstreams. Combined with the toxins released by candida when it begins feeding on excess sugar and you have the basis for acne breakouts.
In general our bodies are in poor shape as it is. There is a link between acne and candida, but that is only one aspect that is wrong with our bodies. We have to bring our body back into balance by eating more natural foods and avoiding the processed items that we have eaten for years. Linking acne and candida is only the beginning, you have to pursue a more natural lifestyle to get rid of your acne for good.
