Aspirin
One of my favorites is to make a mask using aspirin. Aspirin is a beta-hyrdoxy acid and is basically a form of salicylic acid without going into to many technical details. For this you’ll want to buy a bottle of uncoated pills and crush up about 2 or 3. The reason you want uncoated pills is that they’re that much easier to crush into a fine powder. After you’ve done that, sprinkle in a tiny bit of water. You want this mask a bit rough so it sticks to your face and it will also exfoliate your skin. Leave this on for about 10 minutes and then simply rinse it off. This is a great acne blemish control method to help clear away breakouts fast.
Oatmeal
Another favorite of mine is to make a mask with oatmeal. You can do this either of two ways. The first way is to process to the oatmeal into a powder with a blender or food processor. Then mix the oatmeal with a bit of water and spread on your face until it dries. The other method is to cook the oatmeal and allow it to cool and then let it dry on your face. Either method works very well at clearing up current breakouts and will actually make your skin feel very smooth. When using this acne blemish control method, make sure you’re buying real oatmeal without any added sugars to it.
Baking Soda
Baking soda is a cheap alternative that works great for helping dry out any pimples you might currently have. Just like the previous two, mix with a bit of water and then apply to your face. When mixing this up, opt to make it thicker rather than thinner so it sticks to your face. I also would add a little extra layer to any pimples in order to give them a little more of a drying boost. If you’re trying to get rid of current breakouts, leave this on for a few minutes until it dries. Otherwise you can simply rinse this acne blemish control off as soon as you’ve finished applying it. One caveat to this method is that baking soda is a strong base; it has a very low pH level. Our skin, on the other hand, has a high pH level; it is slightly acidic. If you pursue this method, I would suggest making a toner with lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to splash on after you’re done to keep your skin in balance. Just make a solution that is about 30% lemon juice or apple cider vinegar and about 70% water. This also has the added benefit of keeping your skin healthy as both lemon juice and apple cider vinegar are great for keeping pimples away.
These are my favorite acne blemish control methods. If you’re suffering from an acne breakout, give these methods a try and watch how fast your skin begins to clear up. Best of all, they won’t cause your skin to get all dry and itchy like typical chemical treatments. Comparatively speaking, these are much milder and will help control your breakouts more naturally.
