Toothpaste On Pimples
If you’re thinking about using toothpaste on pimples, I urge you to rethink that decision! While some toothpastes can help clear away your pimples faster, most of them won’t do much, if anything, and can actually irritate your skin. This is bad because it can cause even more breakouts or it may worsen your current breakout. Instead of using toothpaste on pimples you should try these other remedies that work better and that are a little better for your skin.
Tea tree oil is the option that I’d recommend the most instead of using toothpaste on pimples. It has some pretty unique properties that aid in fighting the bacteria in acne and can help clear away breakouts pretty quickly after they’ve happened. I like it because it’s a natural product so it mix much better with your skin than toothpaste or even typical acne products. Tea tree oil can be very drying so use this very sparingly on your breakouts. Another thing is that some people may experience allergic reactions to it so if you’re going to use it, dab a little on your skin first before actually using it to make sure you’re not allergic. Also, by itself, tea tree oil is incredibly harsh so I strongly recommend you dilute it to about 5% if it already hasn’t been.

Another option instead of using toothpaste on pimples is to try apple cider vinegar. When buying apple cider vinegar, buy only the organic and unfiltered kind as when it’s filtered, it loses all of its potency. Again just like with the tea tree oil, you want to dilute it and also test a patch of skin under your chin to make sure you’re not allergic or won’t get any adverse reactions. If you get a rash or excessive redness when you test either product, skip them and move along to something else. When first using this on your face, you’ll want a mix of about 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar to 9 tablespoons of water. Gradually decrease the amount of water to 5 tablespoons, but don’t increase the amount of apple cider vinegar as it can make your skin burn.
The last option I’ll suggest instead of putting toothpaste on pimples you have is to make an aspirin mask. Aspirin is a beta hydroxy acid, essentially it’s the same as salicylic acid. Making a mask with crushed tablets and a little bit of water is great because it will exfoliate your skin and it will also help prevent breakouts from reoccuring. You can buy uncoated pills just about anywhere for very cheap, maybe like $4 tops. Just crush them up, sprinkle in a little water and put it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off.
While these are great alternatives instead of putting toothpaste on pimples, they’re still not ideal because you’re only treating the symptoms. Acne is something that begins inside of your body. Excess hormones, to many toxins and our generally unhealthy lives all combine to cause our acne problems. Acne is just your body trying to warn you that you are in poor health; you must do something to rectify the situation. Eating healthier, exercising, sleeping right and having a positive outlook all combine to heal your body and clear your skin.
